This prestigious award aims to honor individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and impact through their volunteer efforts to better strengthen our community. This year, the award ceremony will be held on November 1st, coinciding with “Extra Mile Day.” “Extra Mile Day” is a national initiative that acknowledges and shows appreciation to those who ‘go the extra mile’ to make their community a better place. In celebration of this day, the Volunteer of the Year Awards will be presented to two exceptional “Extra Mile Heroes.”To be eligible for the awards, nominees must meet the criteria listed on the application. We encourage residents and business owners to nominate individuals they believe make a significant difference in our community. The information packet, which includes the nomination form, can be found on the mayor’s page at www.cityofwestfield.org, or by visiting the mayor’s office in City Hall at 59 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085.The deadline for nomination applications is October 11, 2024 at 5:00 PM.
