Elton John May Be Coming Out Of Retirement As He Teases More Live Performances

Elton John quit touring last year due to health issues, ending his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. However, the singer’s recent book release says it will not be his final performance as he still intends to do live gigs.

He clarified in Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories of My Life on Tour that his goodbye message was specific to being on the road, and thanked his superfans for snagging his tickets for decades ever since his first tour in 1970.

Elton’s most recent health update revealed that he suffered an eye infection all through the summer, which left him able to see with one eye. Thankfully, he has a team of medical professionals and caretakers ensuring his recovery, so this will not hinder any future endeavors.

The music legend has fought through multiple health issues during his career run, including prostate cancer, COVID-19, hip surgery, a sprained ankle, and a few others. This has led to constant rescheduling of his gigs, but never a reason to back out from his long-running career.

Away from the fame, Elton is a dedicated family man and husband to former advertising guru and filmmaker David Furnish, with whom he shares two sons, Zachary Jackson Levon, and Elijah Joseph Daniel. He and David were one of the first same-sex couples to get a civil partnership in the UK after the act was passed.

Elton is also an active philanthropist dedicated to the eradication of HIV/AIDS via the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which has raised over half a billion dollars since its inception. He also launched the Elton John Charitable Trust with David in 2007 and the Elton John Sports Fund in 2014 to help support sports talents.
