WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — State police say a Morris woman is accused of driving the wrong way on Route 8 while under the influence of alcohol Wednesday.

Troopers were dispatched to a reported wrong-way driver in a Ford F150 on Route 8 northbound, who was traveling southbound in the area of Exit 34 (old Exit 37).

Troopers said they found the truck stopped in the median, facing the wrong way still.

The driver- 60-year-old Tracy Forese- told troopers she had consumed alcohol before driving and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests performed on scene “were not performed to standard.”

She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Forese was released on a $7,500 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 10.
