Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Forecasts indicate that portions of Virginia could see heavy rainfall and flooding related to Hurricane Helene over the next few days, but the Richmond Folk Festival will go on rain or shine.

Organizers say there are five tented stages, so attendees can enjoy the performing groups in a dry environment. Weather-related updates can be found on the Folk Festival's Instagram and Facebook pages.

The free three-day event starts Friday Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. and wraps up Sunday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. This year, the festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

New this year is a relocation of the CarMax and Family stages. Due to the construction of the Riverfront Amphitheater, the usual spot for these stages have been moved. They are both located by Byrd Street. The festival is providing free on-site shuttle buses for easier access to these stages.

The Folk Festival’s 2024 Pocket Guide can be found here .
