The matchup against the Sun Devils is the first in program history.The team will play again against the University of Arizona at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.Head Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said the matchups will be an adjustment for the Mountaineers, as the trip to Arizona is the farthest the team will travel this season.“I think the biggest thing we have to deal with is that dry heat. Making sure we are going to be on bermuda, the element of what we are going to be playing on and then obviously, time zone. So those will be important,” coach Nikki Izzo-Brown stated during a press conference Sept. 23.“That will be the furthest west we have gone in a while. Once we got into the Big 12 I was like no more travel, unnecessary travel, flights unless it’s something in our same time zone.”WVU improved its record to 7-2-1 following a three-game win streak. The team averages two goals per game and totals 20 on the season.With a strong front line, the Mountaineers have 144 shots and have allowed 71 shots from opponents.
