CLEMSON — Clemson continues its homestand at Memorial Stadium Saturday (7 p.m., ESPN) as Stanford comes to town for an ACC matchup.

Linebacker Wade Woodaz spoke with the media about his overall thoughts.

–Through the three games Clemson has played so far this season, Woodaz was asked if he would assess his performance so far this season. He said, “I feel like I’ve played pretty good so far. Obviously, I want to improve and get better, like make a big play or something that like, but overall, I feel like I’ve done my job which is all I can control.”

–The Tigers have dominated their last two opponents, and many young guys have been able to play. While many of the starters have come out by the third and fourth quarters Woodaz said, “We have to sustain this energy and the hunger that we have as a team. We can’t be satisfied because we’ve played really well in two games like we have. It’s a long season, we got to keep it rolling.”

–With many young guys getting the opportunity to play, Woodaz has loved what he has seen out of freshman linebacker Sammy Brown. He said, “I’m really proud of him. He’s worked so hard…the work he puts in is showing up on game day.” Woodaz said Brown has been in the film room consistently with him and Barrett Carter.

–Woodaz also gets the opportunity to play on special teams for Clemson. He said, “Special teams is arguably the most important part of the game…Special teams isn’t a play off. I’m still playing for Clemson.” He added, “You have to play with pride and use max effort to go make a play and if someone’s not going to make a tackle then I’ll go make a tackle.”

–Wade isn’t the only Woodaz in a Clemson jersey this season. His brother Drew came in during the summer with the rest of the 2024 class. He said having his brother here is “pretty cool” and he “can’t wait until we can actually be on the field together.”
