Former major league baseball pitcher Andy Benes was the guest at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s annual Cardinals Luncheon, held at Donnewald Distributing Wednesday. Benes pitched 14 seasons in the big leagues from 1989 through 2002. He was with the San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks. The Indiana native played for St. Louis a total of five years, 1996 and 1997, then from 2000 to 2002.
