It was the closest margin of defeat against a nationally-ranked team since a 19-14 setback on Oct. 20, 2018 at home against No. 8 Grand Valley State. They were looking for their second win over a nationally-ranked team with the other coming against No. 23 Saginaw Valley State (29-28) on Oct. 29, 2022 on the road.
