Goshen fought hard in the second set to take a 14-12 lead before HU went on a 13-5 run to win the second. The third set saw HU (11-7, 3-4) jump out to a big 24-14 lead, but Goshen (6-17, 1-6) would score six straight points to make things interesting before eventually falling 25-20. The final set saw three coach's challenges, each resulting in the call on the floor being overturned.Haley Kruse led the offensive attack for the Foresters with 10 kills. Leah Carter had nine kills and Trevyn Terry notched seven, while assisting on two blocks. Lauryn Hardy was efficient off the bench with three kills on five attempts. Lauren Ross handed out 29 assists to seven different Forester attackers. "I am always grateful for a conference win. However, we are in pursuit of excellence and we did not execute fundamentally in the way needed to compete with the top teams in our conference," noted Coach Kelsey Herber. "Lauryn Hardy did a great job with her blocking discipline and taking care of the ball tonight. We are going to get after it at practice these next few couple of days so we are ready for Grace on Saturday." Huntington will be back on the road for the next three matches. #21 Grace College will play host to HU on Saturday at 1:00pm. The matchup with Grace marks the fourth time in the last six matches that HU will be facing a ranked Crossroads League opponent.The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
