Charlotte's 18-game AAC schedule pairs with the previously announced 13-game non-conference slate for a total of 31 regular season contests, including 17 matchups at home at Halton Arena. "Halton Arena will be the site of high quality basketball versus high quality opponents and we cannot wait to have Niner Nation back in the stands cheering us on."The league office will be announcing tip times and television designations for the conference slate next month.THE OPENERThe 49ers will begin league play on Tuesday, Dec. 31, with a home game against Tulane to end the calendar year. Following the conference opener, Charlotte will travel to Houston, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 4 to play Rice.THE BREAK GAMESFor the second straight year, the Niners will host Florida Atlantic during winter break. Charlotte plays the Owls on Wednesday, Jan. 8 while the first day of classes is Monday, Jan. 13 for students.Last season on January 6, 2024, the 49ers upset then-No. 17 ranked Florida Atlantic, 70-68. It was Charlotte's first ranked win at Halton Arena since 2010. It was also the Niners' first-ever win in American Athletic Conference action.Charlotte embarks on a midwest road trip in mid-January. The 49ers will play Tulsa on Saturday, Jan. 11 before traveling north to make their first trip to Wichita State to duel against the Shockers on Tuesday, Jan. 14.THE RETURN GAMESStudents returning to campus for the spring will be immediately greeted with a pair of highly-touted programs coming to Halton Arena. On Sunday, Jan. 19, Charlotte hosts Memphis as the Tigers visit Halton for the first time since 2005. Three days later on Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Niners welcome South Florida. The Bulls won the AAC regular season title last season and Memphis won the conference championship in 2023.ROAD TRIPTo end January and begin February, the Niners will play a pair of road games. On Wednesday, Jan. 29, Charlotte travels to Philadelphia, Pa., to battle Temple before playing UAB on Saturday, Feb. 1 in Birmingham, Ala.On Monday, Feb. 10, the 49ers will travel to Boca Raton, Fla. to rematch against Florida Atlantic.FEARNEVILLE PT. 2The stage is set for #Fearneville part two as East Carolina comes to Charlotte on Saturday, Feb 15. Last season, a sellout crowd of 8,201 fans packed Halton Arena to see their 49ers defeat the Pirates, 67-52. That was Charlotte's first sellout since 2013.The 49ers' second-to-last home game will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 19 when they host Temple in a rematch at Halton.PART TWO AT HALTONThe Niners will play six AAC foes twice this season and Halton Arena will be host to three of those six rematches, including the Feb. 19 game against the Owls.Charlotte welcomes Wichita State and Rice for a two-game homestand in early February. The Shockers come to town for a Tuesday, Feb. 4 bout, followed by the Owls on Saturday, Feb. 8. The 49ers both played the Shockers and the Owls earlier in January.Last year, the Niners went 8-1 against league opponents at Halton.THE FINAL STRETCHThree of Charlotte's last four regular season contests will be away from home. The three-game road trip begins in New Orleans, La., when Tulane hosts the Niners on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Charlotte will then return to its home state to battle East Carolina in Greenville on Sunday, March 2, before traveling west to play North Texas on Thursday, March 6. The game against the Mean Green will be the final road contest of the season for the 49ers.The regular season concludes for Charlotte at home as the 49ers host UTSA on Sunday, March 9.TOURNAMENT TIMEThe 2025 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship will again be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, March 12-16.
