While the Gremlins lost to DuBois two weeks ago, they could set up a three-way unbreakable tie with a win over the Wildcats.It’s one of 12 games on the D9 schedule, 11 of them on Friday with a Saturday afternoon tilt in Sheffield between the Wolverines and Otto-Eldred.The unbeaten Wildcats routed Bradford 75-13 last week after their forfeit win over Moniteau. They share two common foes so far with the Owls, beating Brookville (44-0) and DuBois (66-14) while the Gremlins beat the Raiders (34-7) and lost to DuBois (46-43).Central Clarion averages 58.5 points and 389 yards of offense per game. Senior QB Jase Ferguson (57-for-79, 906 yards, 16 TDs, 2 Ints.) landed in the No. 2 all-time D9 TD passes spot last week, moving past Brookville’s Jack Krug and his now 113 TD passes ranks only behind Port Allegany’s Matt Bodamer. He ranks second behind Austin Eastlick (49-336, 2 TDs) on the team in rushing yards with 200 yards on 41 carries. His top receivers are Jaxon Huffman (30-542, 6 TDs), Rylan Rupp (30-475, 5 TDs) and Carson Gould (21-329, 5 TDs). For Kane, it’s QB Eric Novosel (44-for-76, 486 yards) and RB Kane Scharba (71-299) leading the offense. The Bulldogs beat the Wolves, 69-6, last year.Port Allegany (5-0) at Ridgway (2-3): The Gators chug along with the Aiden Bliss-led running game that’s averaging 397 yards per game. Bliss (97-1,123 yards, 21 TDs) is averaging over 11 yards per carry, but he has help on the team that’s averaging 55.6 points per game. RB Tristan Kiser (42-542, 7 TDs rushing; 9-105, 2 TDs) also handles the ball. For Ridgway, RB Rocco Delhunty (115-597, 6 TDs) leads the run-heavy offense. Nate Steger (34-235, 2 TDs) and Michael Gerg (32-187, 2 TDs) have also gotten carries. Rocco Allegretto (12-for-23, 138 yards passing; 49-189, 1 TD rushing) hasn’t played the last two weeks. The Gators have won the past two meetings, including 40-0 last year.Keystone (1-3) at Brockway (3-2): The Panthers have lost two straight while the Rovers are alternating wins, coming off a 27-14 victory at Kane, so something has to change. Bucktail quarterback Brody Pentz ran for 103 yards and two TDs while rushing for another in last week’s loss to the Hubbers.Lauren Highlands East 2Clearfield (5-0) at Penns Valley (0-5): As stated above in the milestone list, Bison senior RB Brady Collins looks to become the ninth D9 rusher to reach 4,000 yards, needing 195 yards to get there against the winless Rams. For the season, Collins has rushed for a district-best 1,254 yards on 101 carries (12.4 per carry) with 15 TDs. The Rams lost 34-13 last week at Bellefonte, which lost 28-14 to the Bison two weeks ago.Inter-County Conference NorthCurwensville (1-4) at West Branch (0-5): The Golden Tide travel to winless West Branch, which has shared two common foes so far. The Warriors lost 51-12 to Mount Union and Claysburg-Kimmel 30-6 while the Tide lost 34-28 to Claysburg-Kimmel last week and lost to the Trojans 49-7 in Week 3. For the season, those three anchor the team with Magee passing for 845 yards and 12 TDs, App 460 rushing yards and five TDs and Splain 13 catches for 272 yards and four TDs.
