    Oil spill caused road, ramp closures in Westfield

    WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Mass. Pike exit 41 ramps were temporarily closed in Westfield due to an oil spill on Route 202 Thursday.

    The Westfield Regional Dispatch Center alerted the community on Facebook at 1:21 p.m. that a large oil spill shut down the southbound lanes on Route 202 (North Elm Street) between the Mass. Pike and Holyoke Road.

    The Waze traffic map showed heavy traffic beginning in West Springfield on the westbound side of the Mass. Pike as drivers head toward Westfield.

    Traffic is now moving through the area as normal.
