Activities will kick off Sunday, Sept. 29, with a powderpuff game at 5 p.m. at the Gehlen Football Field.On Monday, the dress theme for the junior high and high school students is Joe Mama - dress like your parents then or now. Elementary students dress up theme is Color Day.Monday’s sports calendar includes a home junior high 7th/8th grade volleyball match with Akron-Westfield, at 4:15 and a 6:30 p.m., junior varsity football game hosting Woodbury Central at Jim Lorenzen Field.Tuesday starts with Dress Up - Age Day for the junior high/high school students and will feature the junior high will dress as babies; freshmen as toddlers; sophomores as millennial; juniors as boomers and seniors as seniors.Elementary students will observe Mismatch Day for their choice of dress.The Tuesday sports schedule is busy:4 p.m. 7th grade volleyball vs. MMCRU at Remsen; 4:15 p.m., 8th grade volleyball vs. MMCRU at home; 4:30 p.m., junior varsity/varsity cross country vs. Western Christian at Rolling Hills Country Club; 5 p.m., volleyball C squad vs. MMCRU at Marcus; 6 p.m., junior varsity volleyball vs. MMCRU at Marcus, followed by the 7 p.m., varstty volleyball team taking on MMCRU at Marcus.Elementary students will dress up for Pajama Day on Wednesday. At the junior high/high school, students will dress up under the theme “2000s Icons,” choosing such icons as a singer, movie star, athlete, movie character, game show host, etc.On Thursday, elementary students will dress up as Movie Character Day.The junior high and high school students will take on the theme, “Movies That Raised Us,” and dress like the movie or TV character they grew up watching.Also on Thursday, the junior varsity and varsity cross country teams will be running against South O’Brien at the Primghar Country Club, starting at 4 p.m.The junior high football team will take on West Sioux at 4:15 p.m., on the Gehlen Field. The 7th/8th grade volleyball team will be at home in a match with South O’Brien.Friday is Spirit Day with all grades dressing school colors.The day begins with the 8:25 a.m. prayer and announcements.The all school Mass is at 8:45 a.m., with Adoration to follow.Starting at 10 a.m. and going until 11:10 a.m., the Jay Olympics will be held on the practice football field, parking lot and back gym.Homecoming coronation will be at 12 noon in the school’s Beau Langel Memorial Gym.The parade will lineup along Eighth St. South (the boulevard). The parade will start at 1:45 p.m. and travel north on Central Avenue, and conclude on the corner of Second Street North.There will be a tailgate at Jim Lorenzen Field from 5:30-7 p.m., sponsored by Total Motors, American Bank and Perspective Insurance. The tailgate menu consists of a ham sandwich, chili and a cinnamon roll.Kickoff of the homecoming football game is at 7 p.m., when the Gehlen Jays take on the Sibley-Ocheydan Generals.The homecoming dance will follow the football game, with doors closing 45 minutes after the game. The dance concludes at midnight.Saturday will feature the Alumni Volleyball Tournament to end the week of festivities.</div></body>
