By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton’s water shortage is having an effect on the Parks and Recreation Department. At their meeting this week the Parks and Rec Commission heard from the Parks and Rec Director about how they are dealing with the town’s water restrictions. The Hopkinton Independent confirms since many of the Parks and Rec properties are on wells they are not required to stop irrigation, but officials said ethically they find it important and so shut off irrigation at the dog park, Town Common and Carrigan Park but not at properties that would cost the town a lot of money if they went south like the Fruit Street fields.
