They work collaboratively as a united front alongside Downtown Inc and the York County Economic Alliance (YCEA) to boost community engagement and support local businesses.Responsibilities include engaging in a variety of volunteer opportunities such as:<ul><li>Attending official ribbon cuttings, small business celebrations, and special events.</li><li>Participating in downtown beautification initiatives like graffiti and litter removal, and clean-ups.</li><li>Volunteering at signature Downtown Inc events such as Go Green in the City, Sip &amp; Savor, and Hanging of the Greens.</li><li>Serving as “eyes on the street” to report opportunities and challenges in downtown.</li><li>Connecting small businesses with resources like BLOOM Business Empowerment Center grants, loans and workshops and York County Trail Towns program.</li><li>Using social media to promote the numerous great happenings in Downtown York.</li></ul>New ambassadors will also be required to attend Downtown Inc Ambassador Training to ensure effective contributions to our mission.Joining the Ambassador Team comes with perks, including:<ul><li>Invitations to ribbon cuttings and networking opportunities with expanded businesses.</li><li>Inclusion in distribution lists for media releases on city events.</li><li>Opportunities to participate in insider tours, field trips, and social events.</li><li>Features in the Downtown Inc Magazine and social media spotlights.</li><li>Access to a network of resources through our Merchant &amp; Resource Facebook group.</li><li>Discounts on events and merchandise including “buy one get one free” ticket packages for bi-annual events.</li></ul>“Being a Downtown Inc Ambassador is more than just a role—it’s a chance to immerse myself in the vibrant pulse of downtown York.
