We’ll take a crack at it however, here’s this weeks premier matchups.High School Game of the Week: Idalou at ShallowaterWe’ll go to the 3A level this week with one team from Division 1, and another from Division 2. The Wildcats are rolling into this highly anticipated matchup with a perfect 4-0 record, but the non district slate only gets tougher with the Mustangs. Shallowater may be 2-2 but has both losses coming from the 4A level. They also hung tough in both. These two teams have a lot of similarities when it comes to passed down tradition on the gridiron, and expectations of winning that never change from year to year. These two programs have met 36 times, with Idalou owning a 20-15-1 record, but it’s been the Mustangs who have won the last two, including last years 36-15 win.When: FridayLocation: Todd FieldTime: 6:30Station: Sunny 97-7Big 12 Game of the Week: Colorado at UCFBoth teams will enter Orlando with 1-0 Big 12 records in battle of black and gold squads. For Colorado it took a hail mary, and a turnover at the goal line in overtime to beat Baylor in a comeback victory. For UCF, it’s been an electric ground game that’s led them to a perfect 3-0 record overall early. They had a comeback victory of their own to start Big 12 play, when they clawed their way back in a win over TCU. The Knights have positioned themselves as of now, to feel like a Big 12 title run could be in the cards. Colorado could silence the doubters and put their own names in that conversation if they were to upset UCF. The over/under is set at 63.5, and that somehow feels low with the offensive talent both teams possess. The question might be, who can get a stop?When: SaturdayLocation: FBC Mortgage StadiumTime: 2:30NFL Game of the Week: Buffalo at BaltimoreIt’s Sunday Night Football for a reason ladies and gentlemen. The Ravens and Bills are both trying to get over the Kansas City sized hump in the AFC and reach the Super Bowl. However they also have to fight off eachother, and we get an early measuring stick game for two true conference contenders. You also have a fantastic quarterback battle. Last season’s MVP Lamar Jackson has had a solid start to the year despite the Ravens sitting at 1-2. 956 total yards through three games will be overshadowed when the losses outweigh the wins. On the other side Josh Allen has arguably looked his best in 2024’s start for Buffalo. 3-0 record, just coming off a 47-10 thrashing of the Jaguars, and the most important stat, no turnovers. His seven touchdowns have been answered by zero interceptions, and although he has fumbled once it wasn’t lost.
