Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.At halftime of the game, this year’s Fall Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned. Here’s a look at this year’s candidates:Homecoming Queen• CARLEE ANN BOGGS is the daughter of Mark and LeeAnn Boggs. Carlee is an active athlete at Switzerland County High School, where she has participated in varsity track, basketball, and cross country. She has demonstrated her leadership outside the classroom by serving as the co-captain of the cross country team, and has led her team to ORVC championships in multiple years for both track and cross country.Carlee is also active in numerous clubs, including: Pep Club, Spanish Club, Business Professionals of America, FFA, and the Connectors Leadership Program. Carlee has numerous state qualifications. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, and is currently serving as the Treasurer of her senior class.After graduation, she plans to attend a four year college to major in elementary education or speech pathology.• AVY ANNA BURKHOLDER is the daughter of Shannon Graf and Andrew Burkholder. While at Switzerland County, Avy has been involved in numerous extra-curricular activities. She is a member of the Pep Club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the FFA, where she has been a state qualifier in dairy judging and forestry competitions. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.Avy has also made her mark on Pacer athletics. She is a vital member of the school’s three-time conference champion, three-time sectional champion girls varsity soccer team, where she has been named All-Sectional three years in a row. She is also a vital part of the girls wrestling program, winning Semistate in the 110-pound category before going on to finish fourth in the State tournament. In track, Avy also holds the school record in the 400-meter relay, as well as being a regional qualifier on two other relay teams.After high school, Avy plans to further her education and soccer career at Indiana University — Columbus. There she plans to major in biology and pursue a career in oncology.• McKIRA GRACE SCUDDER is the daughter of Devin Scudder and Chastity Scudder. During her time at Switzerland County, McKira has been a dedicated member of varsity cheerleading, having participated in both the competitive and sideline cheer teams. McKira has earned the Top Performer award in the competitive category for three consecutive years. This year, she is serving as the captain of the cheer squad.In addition to cheerleading, McKira has been a member of the varsity golf team for three years. She is also involved in several clubs and organizations, including Pep Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Business Professionals of America, and the Connector Leadership program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and a nine-year member of 4-H. In her spare time, McKira enjoys shopping trips and quality moments with her friends and family.After high school, she plans to attend a four year university to pursue a degree and career in nursing.• BRIANNA NICOLE STOW is the daughter of Tom and Missy Stow. While at Switzerland County, Bri has been an active athlete. She was the third place finisher at the golf conference meet, earning a sport on the ORVC All-Conference team. She was a member of the first golf team from Switzerland County High School to qualify for the regionals, and a member of the conference winning golf team two years in a row. Bri also participates on the varsity basketball and softball teams.In addition to sports, Bri is a 10 year member of the 4-H program, where she shows swine and beef and exhibits other projects. She is also an active member of FFA, Business Professionals of America, the Book Club, Yearbook, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Prom Committee and National Honor Society.After high school, she plans to attend Indiana State University to study aviation and aeronautical engineering. Once receiving her bachelor’s degree, Bri plans to become a commercial airline pilot and work for Jet Blue in Cincinnati.• HANNAH JOAN THOMAS is the daughter of Aaron and Tiffany Thomas. Hannah has dedicated the last eight years to the Switzerland County band program, including five years of marching band. She is currently the first chair French horn and the section leader. In addition, Hannah has earned numerous awards for music including the National John Philip Sousa award and the National Gilmore award.In addition to the band, Hannah also participates in Pep Club, Spanish Club, Book Club and Drama Club. She is the senior class Secretary, the student council Treasurer, and the President of the knitting club and the Spanish Club.After graduation, Hannah plans to attend college to major in marine biology. Her hope is to become a professional marine biologist and use her talents to improve the health of our oceans by researching how to effectively slow the growth of global warming.Homecoming King• CARSON BYRD is the son of Cassandra Chase and Chris Byrd. Carson has been an active member of Switzerland County High School student body. He is a four-year member of the Business Professionals of America, where he is a Chapter Activities member. He is also a BPA Regional winner, and a qualifier for the National Leadership Conference. Carson is a leader of the Pep club, and has been recognized for his good sportsmanship.Carson is also a four-year varsity baseball player and a member of our Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Spanish club.After graduating, Carson plans to attend Northern Kentucky University to earn a masters degree in Supply Chain and Logistics with a dual major in Business Marketing and Business Administration.• CAM CRAIG is the son of Jason and Jennifer Craig. While in high school, he has been active in baseball, golf and basketball. He is a member of the 2024 Sectional Championship basketball team and a reigning Sectional Co-MVP. He has been named to the ORVC All-Conference team for two years, All-Sectional for two years, and is a 1,000 point scorer. In addition, he was the Madison Courier Freshman of the Year in 2022 and the current Madison Courier Player of the Year. He was invited to the IBCA Top 100 camp twice, has been recognized for his outstanding performance by being voted an Indy Star Player of the week and a MaxPreps Player of the week.Cam is also a member of the Pep Club and the Connector Leadership Program. He is a member of the Business Professionals of America where he was part of the State Runner Up Podcast Team and qualified for the National Leadership Conference.After graduation, Cam plans to attend a four-year college to earn a degree in education while continuing his basketball career.• ROMAN HITE is the son of Rod and Mandy Hite. During his four years in high school, Roman has been an integral part of Switzerland County athletics. He has participated on the baseball, soccer, swim, basketball and bowling teams. He is a two time All Conference honoree in baseball; and an Academic All-State winner in soccer.Outside of sports, Roman has participated in Business Professionals of America where he was a state qualifier and a qualifier to the National Leadership Conference with his Podcast Production team. Roman also participates in FFA, where he was a state and National qualifier for Social Science and Agriscience Fair competitions.After graduation, Roman plans to study Aerospace Engineering while continuing his baseball career. His long term plan is to enlist in the Air Force to become a pilot.• KADYN RILEY is the son of Ashley Browning and Chad Riley. Kadyn is an active student at Switzerland County High School, where he is a member of numerous sports teams, including varsity soccer, varsity basketball, cross country and track and field. Kadyn has been a part of two Sectional Championships — being a part of the 2024 basketball Sectional Championship team and winning the individual Track Sectional for long jump the same year. He is an individual conference winner of the long jump, and has been named an ORVC All-Conference team member for both basketball and track. He has also been named to the Basketball All-Sectional Team and was named to the Madison All-Courier Area team for track and field.Kadyn is an active member of the Business Professionals of America, the Spanish club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.After graduation, he plans to attend college to major in sports media and continue his track and field career.• COOPER TODD is the son of David and Angie Todd. While in high school, Cooper has been active in many areas. He was the 2022 soccer Sectional MVP; 2022 Madison Courier Area Soccer Player of the Year; Conference Champion, All-Sectional team, and serves as a team captain. In basketball, he was a leader of the 2024 Sectional championship team and an All-Sectional selection. Cooper has also played four years of varsity baseball.Along with his sports responsibilities, Cooper is currently serving as the Chapter President of the Business Professionals of America. He is a three year qualifier to the National Leadership Convention and the 2022 State Champion in Fundamental Spreadsheets. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Athletic Leadership Council, and the National Honor Society.Cooper’s plans after high school are to attend a four year university to play soccer and major in business management.</div></body>
