If Texas volleyball coach Jerritt Elliott needs to find somewhere to eat during the Longhorns' trips to College Station and Baton Rouge, La., this weekend, he can probably just ask the head coaches at Texas A&M and LSU for a recommendation.

Both Texas A&M (9-1) and LSU (8-3) are led by head coaches who once worked under Elliott in Austin. Texas A&M's Jamie Morrison served as a volunteer assistant coach at UT during the team's run to the NCAA championship match in April 2021. LSU head coach Tonya Johnson worked at Texas from 2003-08 and again from 2014-21, and she helped lead the Longhorns to a 356-66 record with three appearances in the NCAA finale.

Furthermore, former UT setter Ashley Shook is an assistant coach on Johnson's staff.

Johnson played at LSU and has gone 35-34 since returning to her alma mater ahead of the 2022 season. Morrison is in his second season in College Station, and he has won 25 matches with the Aggies.

All-time, No. 8 Texas (5-3) owns a 76-23 record against Texas A&M. The Longhorns are 22-4 against LSU.
