LANCASTER, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A second suspect is wanted in the investigation from an 18-year-old killed in Lancaster earlier this month.

Lancaster Police say 31-year-old Lamonta Dishanior Roberts is wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Jelani Jackson. Roberts is being charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of weapon by convicted felon.

On Sept. 4, officers say they responded around 7:50 p.m. to Clinton Avenue near Ruth Street in reference to a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Jackson, was reportedly found with a gunshot wound, and was transported to MUSC-Lancaster Medical Center, where he later died.

On Sept. 11, Kenyan Blair, 18, was already in custody of the Lancaster County Detention Center when he was charged with Jackson’s murder.

Roberts is also wanted for violating his federal probation. Police list him as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds. He’s also known as “Goochie” and “Six Hunnit.” He’s considered armed and dangerous. If anyone sees Roberts, call 911.

“Preventing and addressing violent crime is the top priority of the Lancaster Police Department,” said Lancaster PD Chief Don Roper. “Our dedicated officers and law enforcement partners devoted extensive hours to resolving the tragic shooting that resulted in the loss of a young man’s life. I am proud of the outstanding efforts of all investigators involved in this case. I want to thank our partners at the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the Solicitor’s Office for their hard work and efforts on this case.”
