The 6th Annual NatureTrack Film Festival returns to Goleta for the second year October 11-13th at the Camino Real Cinemas at the Marketplace. Over 80 nature adventure films from around the world will be shown – tickets are on sale now! New this year, the NTFF team will open the official Festival Hub in the former Pier One space at the Camino Real Marketplace. The City Council adopted the 2023-2028 Economic Development Strategic Plan in June 2023 as a roadmap for implementing the City’s economic development strategies over the next five years. Staff is recommending an initiative, called the Old Town Small Business Assistance Program, which will involve a menu of action items for Council to choose from, including a grant program for small businesses, business license fee waivers, and other events to promote Old Town. In October of 2023, the City received a Building Forward Library Facilities Improvement Program grant ($4.2 million) from the California State Library to make several infrastructural improvements to the Goleta Valley Library. City Council will consider options for offering modified Library services to the public during construction. The Goleta City Council voted to join 3CE in August 2019. 3CE is locally controlled and governed by its Policy and Operation Boards. The City of Goleta currently shares its Policy and Operations Board seats with the City of Carpinteria.
