According to Rochelle Park Police Captain James DePreta, Thompson forcefully pushed the victim to the ground and then grabbed the man’s wallet from his back pocket.Rochelle Park Police officers were quick to respond following the robbery. Sgt. Brian Cobb, along with Patrolmen Todd Starling, Joe Buono, and Evan Migliore, spotted Thompson walking on Bennett Avenue shortly after the incident. After stopping him, officers found the victim’s wallet and its contents in Thompson’s possession.Police charged Thompson with robbery and took him to the Bergen County Jail. The officers managed to recover the stolen wallet, which contained cash, credit cards, and gift cards and returned it to the victim.
