ELKTON — Take a spirit-filled tour of Elkton Oct. 4 when the Historical Society of Cecil County presents “Tales From the Boneyard.”

Tickets are $25 per person for adults and $15 for children under 12. Tours will be at 5:30 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.

This is a walking tour that begins at the Rev. Duke Log Cabin behind the HSCC headquarters, 135 East Main St. in Elkton. From there a headless horseman will lead visitors to the Elkton Cemetery to hear from Cecil County’s Civil War era contributors — Dr. Jamar and Union Hospital’s first nursing class.

Then it’s onto Main Street to meet with Lucy Litzenberg, a milliner, as well as Warren Boulden, who introduced Cecil County to the automotive age and then witness the disagreement between Palmer Ricketts — the editor of the Cecil Whig — and Amor Forwood, editor of the Cecil Democrat — that ended with a deadly duel.

There will be light refreshments served. This event is made possible by a grant from APGFCU.
