According to its website, the Arizona Restaurant Association-hosted event aims to “position Arizona as one of the top culinary destinations in the nation.”Chicken N Pickle is offering a $55 dinner for two for Restaurant Week, which includes two shareables, or appetizers, two handheld entrees and one dessert.For shareables, guests can choose from among guacamole served with chips and chorizo queso served with deviled eggs.Handhelds, served with hand-cut fries, sweet potato fries or tots (pick two), include NKC Hot (fried chicken breast, pickles, hot sauce and spicy slaw), double bacon burger, southern-fried pimento chicken, pulled pork, double smashed burger and pickled chicken. Dessert offerings are Winston’s brookie skillet and mixed berry cobbler.Garbe said Chicken N Pickle strives to create an environment where customers can put the phone down and connect with their dining companions. Pickleball is a crucial part of that model, given its accessibility. Indoor and outdoor courts can be reserved online, with paddles and pickleballs available to rent on-site.“Another thing that we love people to experience at Chicken N Pickle is family time. We’re a property for all ages. You can pick up a pickleball paddle when you’re 2 and when you’re 90,” Garbe said.There are also large Battleship boards and Jenga pieces for lovers of traditional tabletop games, which complement the cornhole boards, ping pong tables and pickleball courts. They are spread throughout their indoor venue and the large backyard space.The Glendale location (9330 W. Hanna Lane) is the only Chicken N Pickle restaurant in Arizona. Nine additional locations are scattered across the Southwest. Each facility has a full-time community impact coordinator to find ways to work with local nonprofits, charities and other organizations.
