Elisabeth Ovesen, Formerly Known as Karrine Steffans, Claims She Was a 'Gift' to Sean Diddy Combs

Elisabeth Ovesen, an author and media personality, has recently brought new attention to her complex history with music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. In an interview with The Daily Beast on September 25, 2024, Ovesen revealed disturbing details about her alleged encounter with Diddy in February 2001, claiming that she was once treated as a "gift" for the star by another executive in the music industry.

Now 46 years old, Ovesen's account of the incident describes a night of excessive partying with music executives, during which she was consuming pills and alcohol before being told to go to Diddy's home. As she recalls, Diddy's car pulled up, and the men around her spoke on her behalf, making her aware that she was expected to spend time with him.

“In retrospect, I realized that I was given to him as a gift by another executive,” Ovesen, said during the interview. “Diddy’s car pulled up. … He asked who I was, and the men spoke for me.”

She continued, “[Diddy] was like, ‘Send her to my house. That was it. I got the order to go to his house, and that was the first time he and I spent time [together].”

This incident took place shortly after Diddy's very public breakup with actress and singer Jennifer Lopez.

In her 2005 memoir, Confessions of a Video Vixen, Ovesen, then using the name Karrine Steffans, had previously touched upon these accusations. The book, widely discussed for its candid portrayal of her relationships with high-profile figures in the music industry, gave readers an early glimpse into the darker side of her experiences. However, her recent statements are more direct, pointing to an industry where women were sometimes treated as commodities by powerful men.

Ovesen stressed in her interview that, while she understood what was expected of her, she doesn't consider herself one of Diddy’s victims. Rather, she indicated that others who were present at these lavish, Great Gatsby-esque parties may have endured far worse. She acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations made by other women against Diddy and expressed her desire for them to have the space to discuss their experiences.

She concluded, "And it’s not just Diddy, and it’s not just music or hip hop. “Men who hate women, men who hate who they are, who can’t admit to their sexuality, who are pretending to be straight when they’re not. And they hate women because they can’t. They don’t love women. Most of them want to be women, and they can’t, and they hate us. They beat us early and often.”

She could had refused to go and could had easily reported to the Law. As far as I am concerned no one force her or beat her to get in that car. She freely put herself in that situation. So why you talking now? Smh
