(September 26, 2024) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team will continue its fall season on Sept. 27-28, adjusting this week's schedule to compete at the EKU Invite in Richmond, Ky.The two-day event will feature the Lions taking on their Atlantic Sun Conference foes, along with ETSU and individuals from other schools. The Lions were originally scheduled to play the weekend at the Belmont Fall Invitational in Nashville, but the event was canceled due to anticipated weather from Hurricane Helene.North Alabama looks to keep rolling after opening the season with 20 wins at the Samford Invitational from Sept. 13-15. The weekend outing saw all eight Lions secure at least two wins, led by five by sophomore Alberto Altur and freshman Satoru Nakajima.UNA gets an early look at the Colonels, who the Lions defeated 5-2 during the 2024 regular season. The Colonels finished 2024 with a 20-10 record and 5-4 in the ASUN, capping the season with a 4-2 defeat to Pacific in the UTR Sports NIT Tournament. North Alabama also faces a former ASUN tennis powerhouse in ETSU, who won eight-straight conference titles from 2007-14.
