The fire broke out early in the morning. Although multiple fire departments responded, the man wasn’t able to get out.</b></p><h2>2 Fire Departments Responded To The Scene</h2><p>Multiple Fire Departments responded to the call. The North Crossett Fire Department and the Crossett Fire Department both arrived at the scene.</p><p>Sadly, they were too late.</p><p>Stephen Walley, only 57, passed away during the incident.</p><h2>Friends Show Support</h2><p>The news first appeared on a Facebook group called Crossett High School 1987 Class:</p><blockquote><p>“Friends, sadly we lost Stephen Walley early this morning in a house fire. He wasn’t able to get out. Prayers for his family.”</p></blockquote><p>You can read his obituary here.</p><p>A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23rd.</p><p>Stephen was described by his family as someone with a “heart of gold and was always ready with a joke, especially “Dad” jokes-the one-liners that always brought laughter to those around him.”</p></div></body>
