Pulliam Distinguished Fellow in Journalism.The Hillsdale Collegian says the one-credit class will cover podcasting.“By the end of the classes that I’m delivering, I’m hoping that anyone who attends it should have the tools to just plug in a microphone to their computer and start their own podcast,” O’Connor says in the Collegian report.O’Connor’s class, “Broadcasting and Podcasting,” will start Oct. 21. He’ll deliver a public lecture the next day entitled “The Media and the 2024 Election.”“I never went to college,” O’Connor told the newspaper. “It’s pretty wild for me to find myself in this position as an instructor for college students.”A Broadway manager for more than two decades, O’Connor’s career path changed dramatically after meeting Breitbart News Network founder Andrew Breitbart, who was then building a website for entertainment-industry professionals with conservative values. “We were making it up as we went along,” O’Connor said. “I was one of those people in the room as the new rules of new media were being built.”O’Connor subsequently became the editor of Breitbart.tv, during which time he began a career in talk with an online show at Blog Talk Radio.
