69 year old Rodney Pereira, the Loveland man accused of sexually assaulting a woman during an acupuncture appointment in 2022, has been sentenced to probation for the four charges to which he pleaded guilty. Pereira appeared before 8th Judicial District Court Judge Sarah Cure Thursday afternoon more than two months after he pleaded guilty to unauthorized practice of medicine by impersonating a medical provider, unauthorized practice of massage therapy, and sexual contact as an acupuncturist. In early 2023, a woman contacted the sheriff’s office to report that she had been assaulted during a treatment performed by Pereira.
