Road conditions will likely deteriorate as the storm progresses and staying off the roads helps keep everyone safe and allows emergency services to operate efficiently.For Storm-Related Questions – Please contact Holmes County Emergency Management at 850-547-1112 for any storm-related or shelter inquiries. Our Emergency Management office is activated and fully equipped to handle all storm-related questions.For Emergencies – If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately. Emergency responders are on standby and ready to assist.As part of our preparations, HCSO will have additional staff and work crews deployed across the county. These teams, in collaboration with local fire departments and county road crews, will be clearing any trees or debris that may block roadways. Our priority is ensuring roads remain clear and safe for emergency access throughout the storm.In the unlikely event that cell service is disrupted, and communications are lost, each fire station in Holmes County will be staffed with personnel, as will the EMS station. Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies will also be stationed in strategic locations across all four corners of the county to ensure rapid response where needed. If you are unable to reach emergency services via phone, you can go directly to your nearest fire station for help.Sheriff Tate stated:“We are ready to respond and assist in any way we can. The safety of our residents is our top priority, and we ask for your cooperation in staying off the roads and using emergency services responsibly during this time.”We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
