On the podcast side, we’ve expanded the lineup! Rock M Radio now broadcasts five different shows: Before the Box Score, Dive Cuts, The Mo Show, Rock M Reacts and Majority Rules. At the bottom of the post are the needed links to subscribe, please do so if you aren’t already. </p><p>In the usual off week I had the chance to set up a couple interviews. The first one I got to talk with Mizzou Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach Matt Cline. We talked about analytic application with the roster, and he was able to get detailed on where things stand with each player on the roster right now. </p><p>Then after Coach Cline, I was able to chat with the original KenPom! Ken Pomeroy, owner and manager of the infamous kenpom.com, made some time to talk about how the transfer portal has impacted his algorithm, and how a human guessing poll measured up against his own ratings. Cline’s interview should hit today, and KenPom’s hopefully will hit Saturday. </p><p>On the RockM+ side, we’re nearing completion on a major site upgrade. For the forums we’ve been using PHPBB and we’re soon to launch the new Xenforo forums here in the next few days. A much more robust discussion software with all the bells and whistles. I’m excited for it. </p><h2>Yesterday at Rock M and Rock M+</h2><ul><li>Quentin Corpuel looked at Mizzou’s weak areas for how they could improve after four games:</li></ul><blockquote><p>One of the reasons why they were so good last season was the lack of a major problem area. Completeness is uncommon in team sports because there are so many people involved with creating success; the chance of failure increases with more variables involved. Mizzou was able to achieve that in 2023; this season, not so much, even as its record remains without a loss.</p></blockquote><p>It’s a really smart piece from Quentin, and I think the biggest part to highlight is improvement in the red zone. </p><ul><li>Dan Keegan’s Between the Numbers piece is a bright look at what’s gone right:</li></ul><blockquote><p>The interior dominance has been mirrored on the other side of the ball. Florida transfer Chris McClellan has been a revelation. He leads the team in pressures (eight), and is tied for the team lead in sacks (two) and batted passes (two). He ranks fourth nationally in Impact play rate (Havoc + run stops) for interior players. He has been an absolute monster on the young season.</p></blockquote><p>Big fan of McClellan, he was one of my favorite additions this offseason. So I’m happy he’s panned out so far. </p><ul><li>In the Race for the CFP, Sammy says Mizzou is slumping a bit:</li></ul><blockquote><p>11. <i>Missouri</i>: The bye week comes at the right time for the Tigers. A lot of things to fix, but 4-0 is 4-0.</p></blockquote><ul><li>The Mizzou Non-Con Countdown continues with a quick look at the Long Island University Sharks, courtesy of yours truly!</li><li>Rock M’s Award Winning (it’ll happen soon enough) Olympic sports coverage is back with a Cross Country preview from Abigail, and a Soccer preview from Dylan with the women taking on Alabama last night, the good news is they tied the Tide!</li><li>Over at Rock M+, we’re talking about Recruiting:</li></ul><blockquote><p>Sam Lance passed through Link today and interviewed Davion Hannah.</p><p>https://www.zagsblog.com/2024/09/26/top ... ools-soon/</p><p>The relevant tidbit: he confirmed what we put out a couple of weeks ago about Hannah nixing a visit to Michigan State.
