Good morning everyone. We continue to adjust the forecast for the Northeast as we are at mercy of what our tropical system wants to do. We'll get into specifics down below on that, but for us here up north, clouds will stick around a couple of extra days. Also, high pressure is much weaker than expected and positioned poorly, so areas such as eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and southeast New York, could see some gusty tropical showers and maybe a few rumbles tomorrow.

This is all due to our storm going much further to the east than expected after making landfall. We are still expecting it to take a turn to the west, but that turn is very wide. This puts areas of North Carolina and South Carolina in the "sweet spot" for the heaviest rain and the biggest risk of severe weather. We are seeing that now in both upstate and coastal sections of South Carolina.

Widespread severe weather is likely, including damaging winds, hail, torrential rain, and the risk of numerous brief tornadoes. We are seeing that play out as we speak, with numerous tornado warnings between Charleston and Myrtle Beach for radar-indicated rotation in thunderstorm cells. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for almost the entire state of South Carolina, and southeast North Carolina as those storms progress east and north.

We are also seeing very heavy showers and thunderstorms in northern Georgia, most of Tennessee, and western parts of North Carolina. That will all slide to the northeast, then eventually northwest into Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri. Look for torrential rain, gusty winds, and isolated severe weather over the course of the next 24-72hrs.

Here is your local NYC Metro forecast -

Look for cloudy skies today and the chance of a few showers. Highs in the low to mid 70's.

We'll have cloudy skies and low 70's tomorrow, and we could see some gusty/squally showers. Look for more clouds on Sunday, with more low 70's and the chance of a few showers.

A little bit of sun returns on Monday with low to mid 70's and a drier day; then more rain is likely on Tuesday with our next system.

The way people use this earth as their own personal trash can; it’s no wonder Mother Earth is fighting back.
