A new crisis center has officially opened its doors in Goshen, Indiana, marking a significant development for mental health services in Elkhart County. Oaklawn’s Goshen campus held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday to celebrate the launch of its newest facility. The center aims to eventually offer 24-hour crisis services, providing critical support to those in need.

Kelli Liechty, Vice President of Access and Crisis Services at Oaklawn, highlighted the advantage of the center’s location on an already-established campus. "The benefit of it being on this campus is that we have a 16-bed inpatient hospital here. We already have staff working 24/7, a cafeteria, and a pharmacy, so our goal is to provide services in the least restrictive environment," said Liechty.

The new facility will help address the increasing demand for mental health services in the region, offering immediate crisis support to individuals in need of urgent care. The integration of crisis services within the existing healthcare infrastructure allows for seamless care and support.

What about providing shelter for the homeless people. Oh wait the city doesn’t care to provide shelter in Goshen for homeless people. They have all that money and ability to get grants to build a homeless shelter but they won’t. They leave it to the library to shelter them during the day and let the library be responsible for any kind of damage to the library. This city loves lies and deceit to make others feel like they care about this city. Yet the mayor won’t do anything about the rental property issues because she thinks the building department is doing their jobs completely. What a lie.
