    Man in custody after hour-long standoff in Moberly

    MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)

    A man is in custody after an hour-long standoff in Moberly on Thursday.

    On Sept. 20 Moberly police were made aware of a possible kidnapping and assault at a home on Rollins St. The victim was rescued by the Moberly Police Department Sweat Team and the North Missouri Drug Task Force, MPD said in a press release.

    After investigating, police issued a warrant for Vaughn Woods, 38, of Moberly. He was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree assault and illegal gun possession. A warrant He is being held at the Randolph County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

    Thursday, police found Woods at a home in the 800 block of Union Avenue, where Woods was in an hour-long standoff with the Moberly Swat Team and other law enforcement agencies.

    Woods was later taken into custody without incident, police said.

    I had no idea that moberly had a sweat team. I did know about the fart team. And about the pooft team. And about the breakfast squad. And the donut unit. And the drug fart taskforce. Now those guys. Let me tell you about those guys. Bunch of yayhoo wanna be real soldiers, taking out their pent up frustrations from their home lives, on the citizens. Anyhoo, i did not know about the sweat team. I suppose i can sleep easier at night now. Weve finally got a sweat team. Maybe they can get these out of control cops under some semblance of order.
