"That is a decision for the conference to make, but our discussion yesterday was just for football."The move leaves six member schools playing football within the league.The Warriors joined the MEC in 2018 as a replacement for Smithville. The St. Pius X football team jumped from Class 3 in 2023 to Class 5 in 2024. Five of the six remaining MEC football teams are Class 3. Savannah is the lone Class 4 program in the conference, but the Savages played at the Class 3 level as recently as 2022. The MEC had no comment on the situation at this time.</div></body>
