The Northwestern Water and Sewer District is starting construction on the Lime City Road waterline project in Perrysburg Township.

Effective Monday, through January, Lime City Road, between U.S. 20 and Deimling Road, will be closed for waterline and storm sewer installation. The detour is Deimling Road to Crossroads Parkway to U.S. 20. Local access will be maintained.

Shoulder restrictions are possible on Lime City Road from State Rt. 795 to U.S. 20 for waterline installation.

Underground Utilities, Inc., of Monroeville, Ohio, is the prime contractor on this $2.2 million project. Work will involve installing 9,000 feet of 12-inch waterline and 3,000 feet of storm sewer by the Wood County engineer.

A key feature of the project is the creation of a waterline loop in the area’s water distribution system. This enhancement will provide crucial redundancy, and should ensure uninterrupted water service during maintenance or unforeseen disruptions, according to the district. The new waterline will also improve fire protection capabilities along the route.
