Deonte Vincent, 25, of Philadelphia, and Jhonny Martinez, 19, of Upper Darby, were both charged with Recklessly Endangering Another Person for separate incidents, the Philadelphia Police Department said.

Vincent was part of a 50-car meet in the 7400 block of Bustleton Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to police. When police arrived to break up the illegal event, Vincent, in a blue Dodge Charger, accelerated toward two officers, forcing them to jump out of the way or be struck.

The Charger then struck a red Dodge Durango that wasn't involved in the meet, resulting in minor injuries to the driver, police said. Vincent then fled the scene but not before officers were able to get his vehicle's information.

Vincent was charged Monday, Sept. 24 with three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, two counts of Aggravated Assault, three counts of Simple Assault, and related offenses. He's being held on $500,000 bail, according to court records. His preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 11.

Martinez was involved in an illegal car meet of more than 100 vehicles in the area of 20th Street and Pattison Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to police. One vehicle, a silver Nissan, was seen doing donuts in the middle of the street before doing a 180-degree turn and heading toward a police vehicle.

The officer was able to maneuver their vehicle out of the way and followed the Nissan to 300 Pattison Avenue where it struck a pole, police said. Four men ran from the vehicle, but the driver, Martinez, was arrested and charged with Recklessly Endangering Another Person. No bail is listed in court records. His preliminary arraignment is set for Oct. 1.
