Bring the family to Halloween events at the Salisbury Zoo

SALISBURY — Follow the candy trail at the Salisbury Zoo during Halloween Happening events, set for Saturdays, Oct. 12 and 19.

Halloween Happening, presented by Gateway Subaru, will run from 1-4 p.m. on each of those dates. Those who purchase tickets online through six days before each event (Oct. 6 and Oct. 13, respectively) will have early entry beginning at noon. Tickets will also be for sale at the gate.

Halloween Happening is not a scary event. Kids ages 12 and under can trick-or-treat along the candy trail, and there will also be games. A family costume contest will be held at 3 p.m. on each Halloween Happening date.

“Come out and celebrate Halloween at the Salisbury Zoo,” said Development Supervisor Jamie Nichols. “These events are always so much fun for the whole family.”

Tickets for Halloween Happening are $10 for children until six days before each event, or $15 afterward and at the gate. Adult tickets are $2.

The Zoo is also seeking volunteers before and during Halloween Happening, and sponsorships are still available. To purchase tickets, sign up as a volunteer or become a sponsor, visit www.salisburyzoo.org/events.

The Zoo will be closed to the public on Oct. 12 and 19 as staff prepares for and hosts these events.
