    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (September 27-29) around Mississippi.

    Central Mississippi

    Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

    • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

    Screening: The Mississippi Freedom Houses Project – Jackson – Friday

    • Discover the untold stories of courage, resilience, and community in the face of adversity.

    U-No it’s Going Down – Jackson – Friday

    • This is an Uno tournament and fundraiser benefiting the Bean Path.

    Rhythm, Blues, & Ballots Concert – Jackson – Friday

    • Enjoy a spirited night of live music, comedy, insight, and more, brought to you by the Rita Brent Foundation.

    Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

    • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

    No Tears Project – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The free-to-the-public No Tears Project Jackson: Be Heard in 2024 events will include community concerts, a panel discussion, and youth education programs located at Myrlie’s Garden, Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and at other sites in the city.

    Dinosaurs Around the World – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

    Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

    • Bike Your Park Day is a good excuse to explore public parks and lands like the Natchez Trace Parkway and Chisha Foka Multi-Use Trail in Ridgeland.

    Wood Carving Class – Ridgeland – Saturday

    • This is an immersive, full-day beginner’s woodcarving class where you will learn the basics of woodcarving to create and paint a Northern Cardinal!

    ¡LATINFEST! 2024 – Pearl – Saturday

    • ¡LATINFEST! is an annual festival celebrating Latin culture through food, dance, and music.

    Monica’s Hope 10th Annual Cancer Walk – Natchez – Saturday

    • The event honors local cancer survivors and those who fought the battle. There will be vendors on site, games and face painting for the kids.

    Oktoberfest at the Brewery! – Natchez – Saturday

    3rd Annual Witches’ Brunch – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • Come and enjoy brunch with your favorite coven. Dress up as your favorite witch and don’t forget your broomsticks!

    Hoodvenchy Block Party – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • This event will be from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Washington Street Park.

    Sanderson Farms Championship – Jackson – Sunday

    • Golf enthusiasts can watch world-class athletes compete on challenging courses.

    National Coffee Day Celebration – Jackson – Sunday

    • This event offers attendees a chance to explore a variety of coffee experiences, including tastings of Northshore canned cold brews.

    A Night in the Hoodvenchy Atelier – Vicksburg – Sunday

    • Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

    Pine Belt

    MSU Pine Belt Master Gardeners Fall Garden Day – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • There will be plant sales from Pine Belt Master Gardeners and vendors outside during breaks and until noon.

    Live at Five – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • Live at Five is a free outdoor music event held in Downtown Hattiesburg at Town Square Park.

    Southern Miss Concert Band to Perform – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • The Southern Miss Concert Band is a varsity music ensemble for the music major and non major.

    LRMA Historic District Walking Tour – Laurel – Friday

    • Join Museum Director George Bassi for an engaging and informational walking tour of Laurel’s historical district as he traces the history and evolution of the city and some of it’s finest homes and structures.

    FRIYAY Karaoke Night – Laurel – Friday

    • The event will be held at 320 5th St.

    19th Annual Historic Mobile Street Renaissance Festival – Hattiesburg – Friday and Saturday

    • There will be several festivities that include a street fair, food vendors, cook-off competition, and live entertainment.

    New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

    Vintage Murder Mystery Dinner Game – Hattiesburg – Saturday
