The diving events begin at 9 a.m. and the swimming events follow at 11 a.m.The Virginia women's team is ranked first in the country this season and the school's men's team is ranked 14th in College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Preseason Poll that was released Thursday.Navy MenThe Mids posted an 8-3 record last season and won the Patriot League Championship for the 20th time in their 20 years of competing at the event. Navy returns 12 swimmers and divers who have earned all-league honors in their careers, including 2024 first-team honorees Everet Andrew, Finn Gelbach and Ben Irwin. In addition to their all-league status, Gelbach was named last year's diver of the year in the league and Irwin received the 2024 rookie-of-the-year award.Navy WomenNavy compiled a 6-3 record during the 2023-24 regular season and ended the year by winning the Patriot League Championship for the 12th year in a row.Back for the Mids are 10 swimmers and divers who have garnered All-Patriot League accolades, including five all-league honorees from a year ago. This includes last season's league rookie of the year in Ela Habjan and fellow first-team all-league performers Sarah Eldridge, Caroline Irwin and Lauren Walsh.Virginia MenThe Cavaliers finished the 2023-24 season with a 3-3 record in dual meets, a fifth-place showing at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and a 17th-place result at the NCAA Championship. Virginia was ranked 17th in the final national poll of the 2023-24 season.Navy and Virginia last swam against each other in the fall of 2020 and the teams last met in Charlottesville in 2012. Navy holds an 8-6 advantage in the all-time series between the programs.Virginia WomenVirginia's 2023-24 campaign was capped by the team winning the NCAA Championship for the fourth-straight season. Along the way, the Cavaliers won each of their six dual meets, won the ACC Championship for the fifth year in a row and ended the season ranked first in the final national poll of the year.Saturday's meet will be the first between the Mids and the Cavaliers in four seasons and the first to be contested in Virginia since 2012.
