ET. 1 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,</b></p><p>CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- Today, September 27, 2024, Jalisa Lashae Hawkins, 35, of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, was found guilty by a federal jury for the Northern District of West Virginia of the charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin; and Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.</p><p>According to U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld and evidence presented at trial, investigators of the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force were conducting stationary surveillance on a Clarksburg, West Virginia residence after receiving numerous complaints of illicit narcotics activity. </p><p>During the surveillance, investigators observed Hawkins pull up to the residence, interact with someone, and leave within minutes. Investigators then followed Hawkins and pulled her vehicle over for multiple traffic violations. During the stop, investigators uncovered and seized fentanyl stamps and heroin.</p><h2>Hawkins Faces Up To 20 Years In Prison</h2><p>Hawkins now faces up to 20 years in federal prison when sentenced. A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the actual term based on the severity of the offenses and Hawkins’ prior criminal history, if any.</p><p>U.S. Attorney Ihlenfeld commended the investigative efforts of the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force and the Mountaineer Highway Interdiction Team South for the investigation, arrest, and today’s conviction of Ms. Hawkins.</p></div></body>
