Broward County, FL - A Broward County teenager who celebrated his 18th birthday at a Miami Marlins game is claiming ownership of Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani's historic 50th home run ball.

The teen, identified as Max Matus, is seeking a temporary injunction to prevent the ball from being auctioned off by Goldin, a New Jersey-based auction house, with an opening bid of $500,000.

Matus alleges that he successfully caught the ball during the September 19th game at loanDepot Park but was dispossessed of it by another spectator, Chris Belanski.

The lawsuit claims that Belanski used his arm to wrest the ball from Matus's left hand amidst a tussle.

Screengrabs from the game's video appear to support Matus's claim.

The lawsuit targets Goldin, Belanski, and Belanski's friend, Kelvin Ramirez, who attended the game with him.

A Goldin representative has stated that the company is aware of the case and plans to proceed with the auction, denying any allegations against them.

Miami-Dade Judge Spencer Eig has been assigned the case.
