    Suspect in custody after Bayview assault that led to man’s death

    Detectives are investigating a Sept. 21 aggravated assault that led to the death of a 27-year-old man, according to Baltimore Police.

    Officers responded to the 6300 block of Eastern Avenue in the Bayview neighborhood for report of an aggravated assault around 3:23 a.m. on Sept. 21, police said. A 27-year-old man was found with injuries and medical assistance was provided on the scene before medics took him to an area hospital.

    Police said a 28-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault.

    The victim died from his injuries on Sept. 25, with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruling the death a homicide. According to police, additional charges for the suspect will be determined by detectives and the city State’s Attorney’s Office.
