The New York Yankees play the Pittsburgh Pirates for the final three games of the 2024 regular season.

The Yankees officially won the American League East after their last win against the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. The Bronx Bombers lost the first two games of the series against their division rival but took care of business in the series finale.

The Yankees hold a one-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians for the top seed in the AL. The team has already secured a bye for the first round of the postseason but will attempt to secure the best record in the league during the upcoming series.

The Pirates are looking towards the future as they sit last in the National League Central. The team will start its two promising rookie pitchers on Friday and Saturday. The Pirates need two wins to match their win total from 2023.

The Yankees will also look to solidify their playoff rotation during the final series of the season. This series will likely be an audition for the team’s three probable starters to confirm their place in the Yankees’ playoff plans.
