After a big win Tuesday night against section rivel Hempfield the Wildcats hosted the Laurel Highlands Mustangs in an exhibition match Thursday evening, and the intensity level was just as high as Tuesdays match. Laurel Highlands notched the first point of the set, and Latrobe took the next, setting the stage for a back and forth battle all the way to the end. Latrobe had their chances to put the Mustangs away late in the set, but Laurel Highlands battled back, and took set 1 23 – 25. Set two, the Cat’s were all over the Mustangs, keeping the pressure up throughout the set and cruising to a 25- 13 matching tying win. Set three was Déjà Vu all over again, as the Cats had their chances to put the Mustangs away, but allowed them to steal set 3 by a 23 – 25 score. Set 4 had Latrobe up by as many as 6 points, but again Laurel Highland would not succumb, battling back to tie the score at 20 – 20, that’s when the Cats took charge, winning by the score of 25 – 22.
