Primary care office opens in Milford Wellness Village

MILFORD — The Milford Wellness Village welcomed a primary care center Wednesday.

With its ribbon cutting, Village Primary Care delivered another health care option to the city, and its executive director is happy to do so.

“I know we are going to do wonderful things here at Village Primary Care,” Kaitlin Fielder said. “We are here to build a practice for the people of Milford.”

The site offers 24-hour emergency phone access, flexible hours and in-person and telehealth visits for patients of all ages.

Taking part Wednesday was Milford Mayor Todd Culotta, who welcomes the opportunity for increased medical help for nearby citizens.

“Ever since the start of the medical umbrella here, it is great to see all of these companies come in,” he said. “They have Village Primary Care now, which is another opportunity for residents to have access to medical care right here in Milford.”

Finding such services can be tricky, noted state Rep. Bryan Shupe, who also attended the ceremony.

“As we all know, not only our two counties but Delaware in general needs more primary care for not only families, but we are aging, as well,” he said. “There are more people in Delaware that need primary care than ever before, and the balance is off.”

At the grand opening, guests took tours of the facility, entered raffles, had refreshments and visited a health fair with various organizations from the Milford region.

The site is accepting new patients and takes a variety of insurances.
