One of the biggest weekends of the 2024-25 college football season is underway. Following a few matchups on Thursday and Friday night, the attention turns to some massive prime time games in Week 5.

ESPN college football analyst Dan Mullen recently dropped his picks for the Week 5 slate , while reviewing some major matchups like Illinois at Penn State, Colorado at UCF, Oklahoma State at Kansas State, Arkansas at Texas A&M, Louisville at Notre Dame and Georgia at Alabama.

While Mullen is taking the favorite in most of the matchups, he predicts chaos will occur in Week 5, selecting the Fighting Illini to take take down the Nittany Lions at +19.5 points.

He also sees Arkansas marching in to Texas to defeat the Aggies at +6 points.

The Fighting Illini are heading into enemy territory after securing a big-time win against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Week 4. They defeated Dylan Raiola and company 31-24 in overtime at Nebraska.

With the win, Illinois jumped from No. 24 to No. 19 in the AP Poll rankings. They've proven they can compete with top-level teams in the Big Ten and Penn State falls into that category.

Illinois will face the No. 9 Nittany Lions after starting the year with a 4-0 record with wins against Eastern Illinois, Kansas, Central Michigan and Nebraska.

The Razorbacks have also been quite successful, surprising some fans and analysts since they had a quarterback change in the offseason.

After rolling through the past few years with KJ Jefferson under center, the veteran signal-caller transferred to UCF and Arkansas is now starting 6-foot-6 quarterback Taylen Green.

Green has produced four touchdowns and 957 passing yards, while recording four touchdowns and 325 yards on the ground.

Arkansas heads into their matchup against the Aggies with a 3-1 record, having lost to Oklahoma State, but defeating Arkansas Pine-Bluff, UAB and Auburn.
