Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin speaks during a news conference after this past Sunday’s game. Tomlin ruled three significant contributors out for this Sunday’s game, with two others unlikely to play.

As expected throughout the week, Friday’s league-mandated Pittsburgh Steelers status report made official that running back Jaylen Warren, outside linebacker Alex Highsmith and reserve tight end MyCole Pruitt will not play in Sunday’s game at the Indianapolis Colts.

None of those three practiced all week. Starting left guard Isaac Seumalo was listed as a limited practice participant all week and was given a doubtful designation to play Sunday. Seumalo, who had not played yet this season because of a pectoral injury suffered in late August, is not expected to be in uniform against the Colts.

Warren (knee) and Highsmith (groin) were injured during this past Sunday’s win against the Los Angeles Chargers. Pruitt will miss a second consecutive game because of a knee ailment.

Nick Herbig will start in place of Highsmith, Cordarrelle Patterson will take over Warren’s duties at running back and rookie Mason McCormick is expected to make his first career start in Seumalo’s stead.

    Elliott, WRs cleared

Starting safety DeShon Elliott (quadriceps) and receivers Van Jefferson (eye) and Roman Wilson (ankle) were given an official clean bill of health to play in Indianapolis. Wilson and Jefferson practiced fully all week; Elliott only missed some reps Wednesday.

Jefferson was poked in the eye early in the Chargers game but returned by the end of it. Wilson, a rookie third-round pick, has yet to make his NFL debut. He was deemed healthy last week seven weeks after suffering his injury during training camp but was a healthy scratch versus Los Angeles. It is much more likely Wilson is dressed for Sunday.

    Only in an emergency

As he has been since midway through Week 1, erstwhile starting quarterback Russell Wilson was listed as a partial practice participant and again assigned a questionable status for Sunday. He is expected to dress as the emergency No. 3 QB
