"Apparently they got hit really hard this time. It was double the storm surge of Idalia, so instead of 5 feet they got 10 feet of surge today.""As people, essentially we're still picking up the pieces of what was damaged in their communities and now they have to re-pickup those pieces," said Captain Stephan Wildish with Salvation Army of Pensacola.Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Escambia counties' sheriff's offices are just some of the crews heading east, all to different affected areas."All of us have different resources and they get deployed depending on their capabilities, their personnel and their assets," Sheriff Aden said."These guys will be doing everything from putting tarps on roofs to clearing roads to doing patrol activities," Sheriff Johnson said.The Salvation Army of Pensacola is also headed that way, bringing a mobile kitchen they call a canteen to be able to feed thousands."It's stocked with food and supplies and has about 2,000 meals on it currently," Wildish said. "Our canteen can feed 1,500 meals per meal, so that's a lot of individuals that this one unit can serve."Each crew is prepared to stay and help as long as needed."As long as it takes to get them back on their feet," Sheriff Johnson said. "We know what it's like to go through this and we know what it's like to see a convoy like this pulling in to your county. It's just a sigh of relief."The Walton County Sheriff's Office is also heading to Jefferson County.</div></body>
