Bethenny Frankel and Ramona Singer’s Runway Walks: Who Did It Better?

No matter who you are, everyone has tried at least once in their life to pretend they are a model. Most of us mere mortals are up in our teenage bedrooms, complete with boyband posters and holding a hairbrush. Our walks might not be the best, but we have heart. But some lucky Bravo personalities get to strut their stuff on a real runway. Sadly, the venture doesn’t always work out, as is the case for Ramona Singer and Bethenny Frankel .

Real Housewives of New York viewers are so close to honoring the catwalk that started it all. Almost 20 years ago, the Singer Stinger stepped onto the runway and shocked literally everyone. In Season 3, Ramona gave face, but in today’s terms, we would call it a bombastic side eye as she marched to the beat of her own drum. Ramona wore pumps and a suit-like mini-dress. Her blonde hair was put in a side ponytail with a puff on top.

Jill Zarin sat front row and center for the fashion show and found it hard to contain her church giggles. Bravo cameras caught the textile queen snickering as she tried to cover her mouth. Jill told cameras at the time that “It looked like an alien invaded her body. She walked like a robot with her neck sticking out like a giraffe and her eyes bulging. I mean, it was hysterical.” However, Ramona was very pleased with herself, as was her husband at the time, Mario Singer . Professional model Kelly Bensimon didn’t give any feedback and let her friend enjoy the moment. The RHONY star’s strut will forever go down in Bravo history as Ramona walked so Bethenny could run.

Bethenny Frankel embraced the high step on her runway debut

Recently, Bethenny flew to France for Paris Fashion Week, where she wasn’t just a spectator this year. The former RHONY star was invited to walk in the Loreal Paris show. You can definitely say Bethenny’s show was a step up from New York Fashion Week all those years ago. Bethenny was surrounded by stars and high-fived actress Viola Davis as they passed one another on the runway. All eyes were on Bethenny as she wore a super sleek mini dress and chunky black platform heels.

The Skinnygirl founder posted a video noting “I guess I’m a model.” She then added the company’s famous slogan , “I’m worth it… and so are YOU. I love you XO.” Bethenny’s appearance made sense, as she had been pushing Loreal’s Lumi Glotion for months. It didn’t take too long for the haters to comment on her walk or lack thereof, with many noting that she failed to have any grace. Bethenny clapped back, telling followers, “I chose those shoes because I wanted to be like a giraffe. One of those legged creatures that walk a runway and looks like they’re not even the same species.”

So, which RHONY housewife did it best?

One thing is for sure: Bethenny seemed to have more fun at her event. The mother of one was smiling from ear to ear as she embraced her vibe. She made the runway hers as she pranced on it and even gave the audience a little twirl. At the end of the stage, she paused for her moment and even gave a shoulder shimmy. In this day and age, Bethenny was allowed to bring a camera backstage as she prepared for the big night . Followers saw mood boards and watched as she had her makeup done. The whole experience seemed out of this world.

Ramona’s bright-eyed and unforgettable runway walk took place in 2010 before fans could see what was going on behind the curtain. For the most part, Ramona seemed stonefaced, the gorgon Medusa, as she took her role very seriously. But the first time I ever watched this scene, I laughed so hard that I almost peed myself…and then I went back and played it over and over again. This iconic walk won’t ever fail to crack me up. And this is why Ramona would have to come out as the winner. While both women did a fantastic job in their own right, you can’t forget the iconic scene that fans still refer to today.
