FBI raids home of Adams' chief advisor, Ingrid Lewis-Martin: sources

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two days after Mayor Eric Adams was indicted on federal corruption charges, the FBI raided the Brooklyn home of his chief advisor Ingrid Lewis-Martin, sources told 1010 WINS.

As Lewis-Martin arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Japan, sources said she was met by federal investigators who seized her phones, while others raided her Brooklyn home.

While she was not home at the time of the raid, sources said that her family members were.

“Ingrid Lewis Martin has been served with a subpoena from the Southern District of New York and her phones were given to the New York County District Attorney’s Office. She will cooperate fully with any and all investigations and Ms. Lewis is not the target of any case of which we are aware,” Arthur Aidala, the attorney for Lewis-Martin, told 1010 WINS.

The purpose of the raid and seizure were not immediately clear, nor was their relationship to the indictment against Adams or other federal probes into New York City officials.

Lewis-Martin is only the latest top Adams administration member to have her electronics seized and home raided, a list that includes the likes of former Police Commissioner Edward Caban, First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Deputy Mayor of Public Safety Philip Banks.

The raid occurred the same day Adams pleaded not guilty to federal charges that allege he accepted bribes and illegal campaign donations from foreign governments during his 2021 mayoral campaign.
